Charlotte Marie Daley Mango

Born: August 15, 1928
Died: May 08, 2012

Mrs. Charlotte Marie Daley Mango was born on the 15th day of August in Bellefonte, Pennyslvania, the daughter of Hugh and Margaret Daley. She passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville. Mrs. Mango traveled the world with her husband, SFC Patrick J. Mango, being a loving and supportive military wife and raising seven children. The family was stationed in Leesville/Ft. Polk in 1966 and retired in 1972, choosing to make Vernon Parish their home. Since that time, Mrs. Mango filled her life with family, especially her grandchildren, to whom she was totally devoted. Mrs. Mango loved flowers and gardening and had worked at Leesville Florist and Greenhaven Nursery. Each year, Mr. and Mrs. Mango had a garden that produced an abundance of vegetables to share with family and friends.

Mrs. Mango was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Mr. Patrick J. Mango, one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Rivera, two sons, Bill Mango and John Mango, and two grandsons, Joey Mango and Jeff Rattigan. She is survived by her sons, Joe Mango & wife, Joyce of Toledo Bend, Michael Mango & wife, Cheryl of Leesville, Dominic Mango of Leesville, and David Mango & wife, Laura of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Tommy, Rachel, Chris, Michael Jr., Tiffany, Jessica, Ana, Diane, Patrick, Melissa, Alexis, and Abby, eight great grandchildren, and the spouses of her deceased children, Ralph Rivera, Joyce Alexander, and Debbie Mango.

Visitation for Mrs. Mango will be held Monday, May 14, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Jerry Jeane officiating. Burial will follow at the VA cemetery in Leesville. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
