Funeral services for George Allen “Tuffie” Wells, 75, of Dry Creek, LA, will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 3:00 PM, Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Deason. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder LA.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA.
Tuffie was born on November 24, 1937, to Ezra Wells and Mable Conner Wells at Port Arthur, TX. He was a native of Port Arthur and had been a resident of Dry Creek for the past sixteen years. Tuffie was retired from the U.S. Army, earning 3 Purple Hearts in Viet Nam and retired from the State of LA. He set up the Criminal Justice program at McNeese State University. He enjoyed watching western movies, football games and playing dominoes with his longtime friends from Kinder. Tuffie was an avid hunter with his close friend, Wayne Jackson. Tuffie passed from this life on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, married 20 years, Terry Lewis Wells of Dry Creek, LA; daughters, Kasey Bailey of Mason, MI and Traci Robinson of Colorado Springs, CO; step children, Garrett Reeves and Chad Reeves, both of DeRidder, LA and Laura Cates of Rosepine, LA and 5 grandchildren.
