After a seven-week battle with cancer, Linda M. Taulbee, 68, passed away peacefully in her home in Anacoco, Louisiana, with her family by her side June 7, 2012.
Born May 21st, 1944, and raised in Harvey, Illinois, she married, raised four children in the military lifestyle, and continued raising them after the untimely death of her husband and eldest daughter. She received her BFA with an emphasis on social work from NSU 1993 and her MSW from LSU in 1999.
She retired from the Office of Community Services in 2006 and she worked for the Alcohol Substance Abuse Program on Ft. Polk from 2007 to 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Taulbee Sr., and her daughter, Laura Lynn Breter.
She is survived by two brothers, Richard Walter Hunt and William Paul Hunt, by her three children, daughter Tracy L. Clemens and Anthony Clemens son-in-law, son Fred L. Taulbee Jr. and daughter Kerri L. Blackwell and son-in-law Gregory Blackwell, seven grandchildren, three great-grand-children, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and coworkers.
Linda was a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a sister an aunt, and a friend to many. Linda worked hard her entire life. Her favorite pastime was working avidly on her yard. Her hard work and her love for her family are her most lasting legacies. She will be missed dearly by all.
Visitation will be held from 2pm-9pm, June 10th and funeral services will be held at 10am June 11th both at Labby Memorial Funeral Home. She will be buried in the new Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville.
